2019 Record Notes & Fun Stuff
Rookie Katelin had a strong first campaign, leading the ladies in average (.438), runs (30) and tied with Julie (who had the best lady RBI rate of 1.35 per game) for RBIs (23).
Shake and bake ended the year as the only two batters remaining in the .700 club, with shake (Jeff) taking the batting average crown with an impressive .758 on the season, good for 3rd best all time.
Jeff also takes this years hit race with 91, also good for 3rd best all time.
Bake (Myles) used his lighter frame to help break the single season record for inside the park homeruns (12) and total homeruns (15).
Thanks to stellar attendance, 2019 required by far the fewest uses of sub players (6) compared to 2018 (23) and 2017 (32).
88s led the entire Welland District Slo-Pitch league with most team mascots - Buster!
The 88s franchise now has more total walks (49) than total strikeouts (48).
